At HHS, we believe that preserving natural resources and reducing the carbon footprint are vital to the success of support services. These principles stand as pillars for our Linen Utilization Management (LUM) program.
First introduced in 2015, our LUM service was crafted to help healthcare facilities increase efficiency and create a more sustainable, environmentally-friendly approach to resource utilization.
What We Provide
Dedicated, on-site linen expert that manages the entire linen process
Total transparency resulting in no additional cost or risk
ThreadCount technology that offers real-time insight into inen usage
Continuing education for team members around linen-related challenges
Full financial reconciliation for linen negotiations, invoices, and distribution
This reduction is achieved by bringing transparency to linen processing and closely monitoring the use and disposal of linen, influencing the sustainability of each program and minimization of each facility’s carbon footprint.
By eliminating more than 22 million pounds of unnecessary linen usage, the HHS LUM program has helped our hospital partners to collectively:
“The HHS LUM Program helps hospitals become more environmentally sustainable by providing real-time visibility into hospital linen programs, which allows proactive managers to reduce unnecessary waste and improve operational efficiency,” explains Jake McCuistion, Senior Executive Vice President, Healthcare.
As we move forward together, it’s our goal to continue to refine our processes to help reduce the impact that we, and our partners, have on the environment.
