Culinary Team Puts on Heroes for Heroes Initiative for Nursing Staff
At a hospital in Henderson, North Carolina, Culinary Director Keith Weiss and his team wanted to show their support to the nurses working the weekends during the COVID-19 pandemic. They decided to put on a Heroes for Heroes initiative, providing sub sandwiches to the nursing team. The team delivered a mini sub sandwich with chips, bottled water, and an encouraging note to the nursing staff in all hospital departments.
Keith and his team had been wanting to show their support to the nursing staff for some time. With the outbreak of COVID-19, it was the perfect opportunity to deliver some food and encouragement and help boost morale amongst hospital staff.In addition to the Heroes for Heroes initiative, the culinary team at the facility has made marketplace items available to the hospital staff. With the availability of certain grocery items being uncertain, the team is offering items such as milk, bread, eggs, sugar, and bottled water.
